Spontania Behind Double-Award-Winning Video Call Project
6/11/2008
Bankinter´s new service wins double award
London, 11 June 2008 - Dialcom, an innovator in unified collaboration, has today announced that its software solution, Spontania, is the technology-enabler behind Bankinter’s video call service, recent winner of two awards from The Banker.
Bankinter’s video call service incorporates Spontania’s unified collaboration software—which includes video, voice, and data—to offer its customers an additional customer interaction medium, over the internet. The new video call service meets Bankinter’s commitment to technology innovation and leading customer service. The Banker Technology Awards 2008 have recognised the success of this project, presenting Bankinter with two individual awards – New Channel Delivery for Retail and its Overall Award of Effective Technology Project of the Year.
The Overall Award aims to recognise technology projects that have proved highly effective, as evinced by a range of clear metrics mapped against the key goals of the project. These metrics include improved customer service levels, increased transaction volumes and the ability to demonstrate excellent return on technology investment. Since the bank introduced the video call service, its customer satisfaction ratings have improved, and in addition to this, its online product sales have improved by 25 percent. Traditionally salespeople could only initiate a sale if a client picked up the phone or entered the branch. Now, using the video call service, they can see when a customer is online and close a deal with them using this technology instead. This has meant that one in four clicks now turns into a sale for Bankinter.
“Our customers tell us that data, voice and video collaboration perfectly balances the convenience of online banking with the personal service of an in-bank teller,” said Jorge Andreo, project manager of video and VoIP for Bankinter. “And the great increase in product sales is a direct result of Spontania’s simultaneous, flexible conferencing and media switching capabilities compared to the traditional one-way outreach through other channels.”
Bob Johnson, President and Chief Operations Officer, Dialcom, said, “The fact that Bankinter has won two such prestigious awards is testament to the excellent service it is offering its customers through their video call service. We are delighted that Spontania was selected to be the unified collaboration tool needed to support this successful project, especially knowing that Bankinter prides itself on being one of the most technologically advanced consumer banks in the world. We’re pleased to be a part of Bankinter’s vision around leading-edge customer interaction solutions.”
